Placements give you the chance to put your learning into practice in a professional environment, strengthening your portfolio and industry contacts. You will explore your own design interests, guided by experienced industry professionals and skilled technicians. Specialist areas of making are explored through creative cutting and materials innovation, engaging you with traditional and digital processes.

Entry requirements
A-levels or BTEC
Entry requirements are in the range of A-level BBB–BCC (120–104 UCAS Tariff points), or BTEC Extended Diploma DMM–MMM. Our conditional offers typically fall within this range.
International Baccalaureate
26 points, with three subjects at Higher level.
Access to HE Diploma
Pass with 60 credits overall. At least 45 credits at level 3, with 24 credits at merit.
T-level
Merit in the Management and Administration or Digital Business Services T-levels. No other T-levels are accepted.
Foundation degree/HND
May enable you to start the course in year 2. Relevant subjects required. HNC may also count towards direct entry.
Studied before or got relevant experience?
A qualification, HE credits, or relevant experience may count towards your course at Brighton, and could mean that you do not have to take some elements of the course or can start in year 2 or 3.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element. We accept IELTS One Skill Retake scores that meet our entry requirements. Find out more about the other English qualifications that we accept.

Course structure
There are two routes through this course and you will choose which one is for you while you are with us. For now just apply to Fashion Design with Business Studies degree BA(Hons). The routes are three or four years long. They are:
BA(Hons) three-year course
BA(Hons) four-year course with industrial placement year.

Creates original clothing, accessories, and footwear designs, staying current with fashion trends and overseeing the entire production process.

Selects and purchases apparel and accessories for retail stores, analyzing market trends and customer preferences to make informed buying decisions.

Plans and oversees the promotion and sale of fashion products, working closely with designers, manufacturers, and retailers to ensure the right products are available at the right time.

Develops and implements marketing strategies to promote a fashion brand, enhancing its image and ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.
